What we source
Discrete semiconductors
Diodes, transistors and power devices outlive the designs that first used them, and the hi-rel versions are made in small batches that sell out. We look for the exact part you specified, at the quality level you specified, in the quantity a lab or a repair actually needs.
Where this comes up
Older avionics, power supplies and test equipment are full of discrete parts whose original suppliers have consolidated or left the military market. Repair stations need the original JAN part to keep a repair within its approved data, and labs need a handful of devices to rebuild a fixture or characterize a design. Both are small orders for parts made in batches, which is the gap we fill.
What we find
- Rectifier, switching, Zener and Schottky diodes
- Bipolar transistors and power MOSFETs
- TVS (transient voltage suppression) diodes
- Optocouplers and other discrete optoelectronics
Specifications buyers ask for
- MIL-PRF-19500
- the general specification for military semiconductor devices, with quality levels JAN, JANTX, JANTXV and JANS (space)
What to put in your RFQ
- The full part number, including the JAN, JANTX, JANTXV or JANS prefix
- Package and lead finish
- Quantity, and whether a smaller first lot helps
- Any date-code limit, and the documents you need
The quality level is part of the part number
A JANTXV part has been through screening that a JANTX or commercial part with the same base number has not. They are not interchangeable, and a relabeled commercial part is a known counterfeit pattern. Your quote names the quality level exactly as it ships, and parts from independent sources are tested before they ship unless you tell us in writing not to.
How we source
- Authorized stock first. We buy from authorized distributors wherever they hold stock.
- Manufacturer and OEM excess, with purchase paperwork back to an authorized source.
- Qualified independent sources only after they pass our questionnaire. Their parts are tested at an independent lab before they ship, unless you tell us in writing not to.
What ships with your order
- Blue Horizon certificate of conformance, signed
- Manufacturer and supplier paperwork back to the source
- Manufacturer lot and date codes, plus our internal lot code
- The test report, when parts were tested
One line per part is fine. We screen every customer and classify every part before quoting.
