What we source
Frequency control
Crystals and oscillators are specified tightly and replaced reluctantly: a different part can mean re-qualifying a clock. We find the exact part, including space-grade and screened versions.
Where this comes up
Oscillators sit at the heart of timing and RF systems, so a lab rebuilding a fixture or a repair station fixing a unit usually needs the identical part. Screened and space-level versions are built in small numbers. We find existing traceable parts of the exact type, and give you the date code of every lot so you can judge aging for yourself. Spares are worth quoting at the same time.
What we find
- Quartz crystals
- Clock oscillators (XO)
- Temperature-compensated oscillators (TCXO)
- Oven-controlled oscillators (OCXO)
- Voltage-controlled oscillators (VCXO)
Specifications buyers ask for
- MIL-PRF-55310
- crystal-controlled oscillators
- MIL-PRF-3098
- crystal units
What to put in your RFQ
- The full part number
- Frequency, stability over temperature and supply voltage if there is no part number
- Output type and package
- Quantity, and any screening or space-level requirement
- Aging and phase-noise limits, if your design depends on them
Stability is the spec
Two oscillators at the same frequency can differ widely in stability, aging and phase noise. We quote only the part you specified, and ask before suggesting any alternative. If your design allows a range of parts, list them and we will search for all of them.
How we source
- Authorized stock first. We buy from authorized distributors wherever they hold stock.
- Manufacturer and OEM excess, with purchase paperwork back to an authorized source.
- Qualified independent sources only after they pass our questionnaire. Their parts are tested at an independent lab before they ship, unless you tell us in writing not to.
What ships with your order
- Blue Horizon certificate of conformance, signed
- Manufacturer and supplier paperwork back to the source
- Manufacturer lot and date codes, plus our internal lot code
- The test report, when parts were tested
One line per part is fine. We screen every customer and classify every part before quoting.
