Power conversion and EMI filters

Hi-rel DC-DC converters are expensive, long-lead and hard to redesign around. We look for the exact converter or filter your design uses, including evaluation and spare quantities.

Where this comes up

A hi-rel DC-DC converter can be one of the costliest parts on a board and one of the slowest to get. Labs need units for evaluation boards and power testing, and repair stations need exact replacements for in-service equipment. We search authorized channels first, then manufacturer and OEM excess with original paperwork, and quote testing separately when a part comes from an independent source.

What we find

  • Hybrid DC-DC converters
  • Point-of-load regulators
  • EMI filters for converter inputs
  • Power-line filters

Specifications buyers ask for

MIL-PRF-38534
hybrid microcircuits, classes H and K, which covers most hi-rel converters
Standard Microcircuit Drawings (5962-)
the military drawing many converters are bought against
MIL-PRF-28861
EMI-suppression filters and capacitors
MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-704
the EMI and aircraft power requirements these parts help a system meet

What to put in your RFQ

  • The manufacturer part number or SMD number, including the class (H or K)
  • Input range, output voltages and power if there is no part number
  • Quantity, and whether engineering units are acceptable
  • Date-code limits and required documents

Match the class, not just the model

The same converter model is often offered at several screening levels. Class K and class H parts are not interchangeable without your approval, and your quote states exactly which one ships.

How we source

  1. Authorized stock first. We buy from authorized distributors wherever they hold stock.
  2. Manufacturer and OEM excess, with purchase paperwork back to an authorized source.
  3. Qualified independent sources only after they pass our questionnaire. Their parts are tested at an independent lab before they ship, unless you tell us in writing not to.

What ships with your order

  • Blue Horizon certificate of conformance, signed
  • Manufacturer and supplier paperwork back to the source
  • Manufacturer lot and date codes, plus our internal lot code
  • The test report, when parts were tested

One line per part is fine. We screen every customer and classify every part before quoting.
